On September 25, 2008, the National League of American Pen Women at the Cape Cod Branch met and installed the officers for the 2008-2009 term. It was also the celebration of Marion Vuilleumier's 90th birthday. Marion not only is an accomplished author with countless publications, she also has considerable "web presence." She is indeed our mentor and we wish her Happy Birthday! Christina Laurie (past President and new VP, in pink) and Jacqueline Loring (new President) exchanged greetings as Suzanne Packer (secretary) and Nicola Burnell (historian) looked on.
Suzanne Packer and Christie Lowrance compiled a book of original works done by Pen Women members. Lily Kuo made a photographic collage of Pen Women. They were presented to Marion in celebration of her birthday. As Jacqueline was flipping through the book, she happened to flip to the page "Sunrise Over Cape Cod Bay" by Lily Kuo. Lily chose this particular photo specifically for the Cape Cod Branch.
A delicious potluck lunch was prepared culminating in the cutting of the birthday cake by Marion. It was a most festive and memorable day!
